Formed in late 2006, 4-Piece Indie-Rock lads, Astro Firs, are on a fast track to bigger things. Meeting in School in Falmouth, Cornwall and after barely a year as a band, the boys were spotted on MySpace by B-Unique Records (Kaiser Chiefs, Primal Scream, The Automatic…) and after short dialogue and several meetings, Astro Firs signed a publishing deal. Since then, the band has played with bands such as The Enemy, Idlewild, The Subways and The Twang; being quoted as “Ripping the roof off” and gaining admirers wherever they go. In 2008, the boys have been recording tracks with Justin Lockey (Yourcodenameis: Milo) in Scott’s hometown of Newcastle, a process that has aided the band in maturing, and despite being at such a young age and through the tracks, has accelerated the band’s rise. One such admirer of the band was artist manager, James Bruce, of SuperVision Management (Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Cribs, Super Furry Animals…), who the band have recently appointed as manager. Astro Firs plan are currently writing more material to inevitably go towards their debut album, October see..s them going on tour with The Automatic, just the beginning of their touring year.
