Astral Lightning was a 3-piece psychedelic power trio formed at Hamilton College in 2007 by Harry Casey (guitar), Alex Preiss (Keyboards) and Alex Hahn (Drums). Their music drew heavily from shoegaze, drone, and krautrock, fusing a love for crushing walls of noise with a pulsing motorik drive. Known for their deafening live performances, the band gained a brief popularity in the Hamilton music scene before being usurped by their time-traveling brethren, the Children of the Time Warp. The band is currently on hiatus, but their debut album ('Oox and the Gentle Hobear') was released in 2009 for online distribution.
