Ashleigh Eymann is a soul singin', rap slingin' independent and collaborative artist. Ashleigh developed a love of musical creation, appreciation, and performance early in her life. Growing up in Vancouver, B.C the mad love affair began with exposure to doo-wop and Motown in her childhood, and starting at age 5 she found inspiration through her years studying piano with the Royal Conservatory. This journey continued into adulthood and Ashleigh intuitively has surrounded herself with musicians and music creators for the past 10 years. After forming the duo Divinity with fellow Brentwood College graduate, Georgia Murray, they began performing with Victoria, BC’s ‘Stir Fry Collective’ in 2002, which served as the perfect vehicle to reach the ears of many local musicians. Ashleigh’s style and expertise garnered the attention of many established artists and she has had the good fortune and the opportunity to work with many of those artists and groups in Victoria and Vancouver. She has graced many tracks for others that began with her signature soulful hooks and has begun her own career that crosses genres and styles. As a member of the hip-hop collective group, The Current (DJ Murge, Ishkan, JustB) in Victoria, Ashleigh performed in Vancouver and across Vancouver Island and opened for many artists including Jurassic 5, Brother Ali, One Self (DJ Vadim, Yarah Bravo, Blu Rum), and The Beatnuts.
