Hailing from the frozen prairies of Western Canada, Ashes of Yggdrasil, are a melodic death metal band, with hints of all sorts on genres making appearances. We first came onto the scene with our EP "The Path" and supported it with shows around the Lakeland area, and eventually breaking into Edmonton scene. Since then we released our full length album titled "Bearing the Pelt of the Wolf King'' WHICH CAME OUT OCTOBER, 2021. It is primarily a norse themed melodic death metal release, but with a thrashy, blackened feel throughout. All members brought hints of the non melodeath genres that they love into the writing process, and fused them into the songs on the album. The making of this album was mired in the swamps of the pandemic for some time, but all members trooped through it and wrote an encompassing melodic journey of norse tales and lore.
