about

As Frenéticas (1976 — 1984) was a six-piece Brazilian female vocal group that emerged in 1976 in Rio de Janeiro, at the height of disco's success in Brazil. Its members were Dhu Moraes, Edyr Duque (1946 — 2019), Leiloca Neves, Lidoka Martuscelli (1950 — 2016), Regina Chaves and Sandra Pêra. A pop version of the stars of vaudeville and cabaret. This is how the sextet of dancers and singers who were very successful in the disco scene in the 1970s was defined. The group was born at the time of the soap opera Dancin' Days, by the musical producer Nelson Motta, who took advantage of the talent of six waitresses from his nightclub in Rio. Starting with short musical numbers between tables, singing young guard and rock hits, As Frenéticas began to sell out shows and soon became a national phenomenon.
