There are at least two different artists called Arty. 1. ARTY (fka Álbany) is a Post-Rock band from León, Guanajuato; México. Formed in 2004 by Ricardo, Daniel, Jorge and Pablo, they played at various indie venues in their hometown before winning first place in the “Band Stage 2” competition. This led to several concerts and the recording of their debut EP in Mexico City, gaining wider recognition in the mexican independent music scene. Arty began as an instrumental band, primarily influenced by Post-Rock and Emo bands from late 90s and early 2000s but they stood out among other mexican Post-Rock bands because of its musical beauty in simplicity, strident harmony, and energetic expression both live and on recording. Years later, Daniel (bass) left the band and was replaced by Mario Palacios. In 2009, they won a music scholarship sponsored by the government of Guanajuato in a live competition against classical orchestras, chamber ensembles and academic musicians at the iconic Teatro Juárez. Between 2009 and 2010, Isaac de la Serna joined as lead vocalist and guitarist, ushering in a new era for Arty. They added lyrics to their tracks and shifted their musical style from Post-Rock to Electronic Rock for the recording of the Eterno Retorno EP. However, he had to leave shortly after the album was finished. Cándido Vera then joined becoming frontman, singer and lyricist, and Eber Bravo replaced Isaac on guitar; Mario, Jorge and Pablo remained in their roles. Eterno Retorno was s
