Arms of Kirin is a melodic hardcore band from Oxnard in the Southern California region. The band was most known for their live show that would often draw many friends of the band itself and of other people in attendance. The band was originally formed in 2004 by classmates Kyle Garcia [Drums] and Adrian Gonzalez [Guitar] under the name Abagnale. Later joined by other fellow classmates Sal Mejia [Guitar] and Heriberto Sandoval [Vocals], who was later replaced by Philip Norton [Vocals], the band changed its name to Arms of Kirin after fellow classmate Kirin Coates whom members Garcia and Mejia would often tease for having such strong and muscular arms. Brother of Philip, Russell Norton [Bass] would also join the band after the name change. Arms of Kirin would go on to live as a band for roughly 2 years until breaking up during the summer of 2006 after having creative differences. The band released two independent EPs simply titled Demo 2005 and the self-titled EP referred to as Demo Part 2. Arms of Kirin is scheduled for a reunion/last show in 2007.
