Arms Like Roses is a 5-piece band from Connecticut formed in late 2019 consisting of Estelle Angel (vocals), Xela Stockmal (guitar), Adam Padilla (guitar), Thomas Shreve (drums), and Tom Fisher (bass). Taking influence from the 90s and 2000s emo acts that came from punk and hardcore roots including Rainer Maria, Jawbox, The Get Up Kids, and Benton Falls, and blending them with a modern indie rock sound, the band released 2 EPs (“Get Some Sleep” and “Past Midnight”) in 2021. Throughout the year, ALR played extensive Northeast shows and were called “one of the absolute most exciting new bands around” by indie music publication The Alternative. The band’s debut LP “Blooming”, recorded and mixed at Silver Bullet Studios by Chris Teti (TWIABP, Fiddlehead, Anxious) during the last few months of 2021 and mastered by Bill Henderson (Thursday) at Azimuth Mastering, released digitally on July 1st, 2022.
