Arman Bohn started playing his own music in the Pacific Northwest college town of Bellingham, Washington in a band called Shed. Backed by Nick Harmer (bass) and Ben Gibbard (drums), Shed was the first band in which Bohn began to experiment with traditional pop song structure, alternate tunings, vocal harmonies and recording/production techniques. Jason McGerr took over for Ben on drums and the band eventually became known as Eureka Farm. Analog was the first full length record produced by the band during the summer of 1997. Shortly after recording Analog, Nick was replaced by Chuck Keller on bass. David Miklos-Snyder joined the band on keyboards/reeds and the band recorded The View in 1999. Eureka Farm disbanded in the year 2000. Jason, Nick and Ben are now in the band Death Cab For Cutie. Arman and Dave recorded an EP in 2006 as The Misadventures of Two. In the interim between the end of Eureka Farm, Arman has pursued film making, travel and a degree in Physics. Bits marks the first full length solo album from Arman. It combines the early pop sensibilities of his time in Shed with the lush arrangements explored later on in Eureka Farm. Synth blasts, 8-bit drum blips, unique guitar tunings and multi-part vocal harmonies all combine to make Bits a worthy culmination of personal music history.
