Aratani Shota (荒谷翔大) is a Japanese singer-songwriter from Fukuoka Prefecture. He first gained prominence as the vocalist and keyboardist of the band yonawo, which debuted under Universal Music Japan in 2019. After several successful releases with the band, including their nationally recognized mini-album LOBSTER, Shota decided to leave yonawo at the end of 2023 to focus on his solo career. He cited personal and creative reasons for the decision, stating his desire to fully express himself as a solo musician. In April 2024, he launched his solo career with the release of his first single, Namida (涙), which marked a new chapter in his musical journey. His works often blend heartfelt lyrics with a mix of contemporary and traditional Japanese influences.
