There are at least three artists with the name Apocryphal: 1. A U.S. death metal/death doom band (active from 2012 to present) 2. A Belarusian Death/Doom band (active from 1994 to present) 3. An Italian black metal band (active from 2014 to present) 1. Apocryphal was formed on 23 August, 2012 with the goal in mind of creating true to life old school death metal and death/doom. Death metal is an art form and it is not entertainment. It is a vessel in which one can see view the world and its happenings. Those who write and perform this art form act as the “guides”. Those who take in the aural devastation form the target audience. Nothing is real but death, and with this outlook, the death metal genre becomes more relevant. To date the project has released one demo called, “Embrace of Death” and is looking to release the debut full length, sometime in 2014. 2. Apocryphal was formed in September 1994. This material was presented on the “Adversery 3” Metal festival together with the bands: Septic Schizo(BY), Apraxia(BY), V.I.P.S.(BY), Evthanazia(BY), Autodafe(BY), Frodmortell(BY).
