Artist
Aoife Mulholland (born 29 May 1978 in Galway, Ireland) is an Irish actress and musical theatre performer who was a contestant on the talent show, How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? (HDYSAPLM). She has since had roles in West End shows Chicago & Legally Blonde. Despite coming fourth in HDYSAPLM, Aoife was asked by Andrew Lloyd Webber to take over the role of Maria at the London Palladium as an 'alternate' for two shows a week, from the 16 April 2007, after Connie Fisher (the competition winner) followed medical advice to perform only six of the eight shows per week. She continued that role after Summer Strallen took over as Maria. Mulholland continued to perform as the alternate until August 20, 2008. She has also appeared in Chicago at the Cambridge Theatre, playing Roxie Hart, Mulholland left the cast of Chicago at the end of March 2007, however on 5 December 2007 she was, as a past Roxie, invited back to attend the 10 Year Charity Gala performance and Black Tie Reception to celebrate the production's tenth anniversary. Mulholland performed "Funny Honey" as a duet with Denise van Outen. In May 2008, Mulholland appeared in Sir Tim Rice's concert revival of his hit musical Chess, with Josh Groban, Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, Kerry Ellis and Marti Pellow. This was performed at the Royal Albert Hall, on Monday, May 12 and Tuesday, May 13, 2008. Between 3 July and 5 July 2008, Mulholland starred in her own sold out show at the Town Hall Theatre, in Galway, Ireland. In this
