Anu Alviola is a kantele player from Lahti. She was born in Lahti and started playing kantele at Lahti Conservatory in 1991. She studied mostly classic – and chamber music in conservatory, but became inspired of folk music because of her long-term hobby – folk dancing. In 2003 she was admitted to the Sibelius Academy Folk Music Department to study folk music. She graduated Master of Music in 2009. Now she is teaching kantele playing and folk music and doing career as musician by herself and with her band Blatentsaine and Kvinta.
