The soundtrack of "Central Station" was composed by Antonio Pinto and Jaques Morelenbaum. Antonio Pinto is a composer of imminently cinematographic melodies who sustains an intuitive relationship with the material he creates. Jaques Morelenbaum is a musician and arranger of worldwide reputation, whose love affair with cinema grows each year. Antonio and Jaques worked together to create the music for "Central Station", following the same logic of the sound of the movie: the instruments fade away as the two characters aproach their final destination. Classical instruments are gradually substituted by instruments of the North-east, like the "rabeca" (an popular instrument similiar to a violin) played by Siba, from Mestre Ambrósio band. One of the most beautiful songs of the movie is "Toada e Desafio", by the great composer from Pernambuco, Capiba, played by "quarteto da Paraíba" and was the first song chosen for the soundtrack.
