Antarktīda is a collaboration of three musicians from Rīga, Latvia - Imants Daksis, Gas of Latvia and Jēkabs Voļatovskis. All of them have been in the experimental music scene for a while and each carries his own personal set of views, ideals and attitudes. They have joined forces in 2008 (?) to manifest the common call to attention towards the highly important transpersonal issues in the transiting society and space. Exploration of sound and individual perception aims to touch the true natures of the auditor’s senses and mind, creating an unforgettable, clear and powerful impact. The youngest member Imants Daksis gained attention as a psycho-folk solo singer. Imants is 24 years old, and already has produced 12 albums and about 300 songs. Jēkabs Voļatovskis has been working alone as a metal artist and noise musician. He is also responsible for constructing the engine which is utilised to make a unique vocal performance. The man behind the Gas of Latvia is Andris Indāns aka Andžons - the most veteran Latvian electronic musician, who emerged in the early 90s post-industrial cassette-tape scene. He mixes his love for the experimental ambient / noise electronic sound with melodic themes and ethnic elements as well to create a unique blend of groovy electronic
