Artist
The recordings in this collection date from 1978 to 1981 and document some of the earliest works of Click Click's main player, Adrian Smith. The instrumentation is the same on every track: EDP Wasp Synthesiser, WEM Copicat Echo Unit, Rhythm Ace Drum Machine, Domestic Cassette Recorder and Akai 4000 Reel to Reel Tape Deck. Under various banners (Another View, The Mental Dance, Abstractions) the music reflects a time when bedroom composers were still a rare breed and computers were still the size of a Ford Transit. Obviously the quality of sound reflects the quality of available equipment, but the invention and passion still shine through. Originally released free of charge on cassette tape. Sound source: Cassette tapes of varying quality. Ultra, ultra, ultra (oh go on then) ULTRA lo-fi. Tags: Retro, synth.
