Artist
Annika is a singer-songwriter who writes songs in three languages, English, French and German. She was first inspired by American folk music, namely Suzanne Vega and James Taylor. However, the Chansons by French musicians such as Francis Cabrel and Jean-Jacques Goldman as well as the songs by Reinhard Mey and Element of Crime left an impression on her. Regarding first experience on stage, she started performing during her time at university, taking the chance to play at Open Mic Nights and festivals. From 2002 to 2006 she played in the Folk-Duo Orange Sound Tree together with cellist Ela Günther. Annika has been active as a solo artist ever since, performing by herself as well as with other musicians. For instance, in 2007, she performed during the festival Heidelberger Herbst. In 2006 and 2007 she also played concerts together with French musician Elsa Siugo both in Paris and in the Mannheim-Heidelberg region. During the same years, 2006 together with Orange Sound Tree, 2007 as a solo artist, she performed during the French Week at Heidelberg. In 2009 Annika recorded her first album Fabulous Sceneries on which she introduces 12 songs in English and French which she wrote over the years. The album was recorded and produced by Amin Jan Sayed at syemusic studio in Viernheim. A special focus lies on the simple arrangements of the songs, concentrating on Annika's fine voice accompanied by acoustic guitar, e-bass, slide-guitar, cello, glockenspiel and accordion.
