Anne draws from a wide variety of influences in the genres of rock, folk, alt country, pop and jazz. Listeners have compared Anne's style to that of Nora Jones, Lucinda Williams and Ricki Lee Jones. Anne Loo was born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado then attended University of Wisconsin, Madison receiving a B.A. in English Lit. She moved to Houston, Texas in 1994. Anne only began songwriting in her mid-thirties. At the age of 43, she is releasing her debut CD, Perfect Rainy Day. Houston-based producers and musicians Dan Workman (ZZ Top, Destiny's Child, Clay Walker) and Eric Jarvis (Charlie Sexton, Bob Schneider) were enlisted to orchestrate this project. The CD features artists Matt Johnson (Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, Suzanne Vega), Kevin Lovejoy (Spoon, Daniel Powter, John Mayer), Rick Thompson (Moses Guest), Sara Hickman, Paul English, Dennis Dotson, Max Dyer, Jose-Miguel Yamal, Bobby Flores, Tommy Detamore, Thomas Helton, Richard Cholakian. Perfect Rainy Day was recorded, engineered and mixed by Steve Christensen at SugarHill Recording Studios in Houston, TX. It was mastered by Allen Corneau at Essential Sound.
