Animal Instincts was created in 2007 by Andrew Damitio as part of the Animal Testing recording project. Damitio began recording music in middle school and quickly became entrenched in the process of home recording. Genre bending projects such as Disney Fever, Glorious, GFU, Rock Strongo, Conspectro, Andrew's Band, ROBOTRIP and more quickly began their circulation through CD-Rs throughout Damitio's high school and college career. Animal Instincts was formed later as a more constructed project that still holds onto the genre hopping and experimental roots of it's preceding projects. Animal Instincts shows are characterized by pounding beats along with and intense performances and plenty of awkward or fascinated viewers. Animal Instincts held DJ sets throughout Arizona with themes ranging from fuzzy 60s pop-rock to 80s electrofucnk as well as of dance and hip hop. Animal Instincts has it's roots in Tucson, Arizona along with collaborators Zackey Force Funk, R-Cougar, and 21 Pump Street. In 2011 Animal Instincts relocated to Brooklyn, NY.
