Angine de Poitrine (French for "angina pectoris") is an experimental rock duo from Saguenay, Quebec, Canada. Formed in 2019, the group consists of two members performing under the pseudonyms Khn de Poitrine (guitar, bass, and microtonal instruments) and Klek de Poitrine (drums). The two musicians have performed together since their teenage years. They first appeared as Angine de Poitrine in 2019, although they did not begin performing regularly under this name until 2023. Their use of costumes and stage personas originated as a humorous concept, and the band name references the medical condition angina pectoris. At one point, after being told they could not perform at the same venue in consecutive weeks, they appeared once under their usual identities and once in costume. The members have remained anonymous as the project developed. The duo initially gained attention through independent online releases and festival performances in Canada. Their debut album, "Vol. 1", was released in 2024. In February 2026, a recorded live session for the radio station KEXP circulated widely online, contributing to increased international recognition. Critical reception has highlighted their originality, technical proficiency, and distinctive visual presentation.
