Artist
Angelina Réaux is an American lyric soprano. She was born in Houston, Texas, and trained both as a vocalist and an actress. She is particularly associated with the music of Kurt Weill, from whose songs she performed a one-woman show, "Stranger here myself", at the New York Shakespeare Festival. She has also performed The Seven Deadly Sins (with the New York Philharmonic), the Johnny Johnson Suite, the Marie Galante Suite, The Threepenny Opera, and premiered the opera The Tsar Has His Photograph Taken. She has also collaborated with Leonard Bernstein (performing, among others, the Jeremiah Symphony at the Vienna Konzerthaus), and with several contemporary American composers, including Ned Rorem, Ellen Taaffe Zwilich, Roberto Sierra, Stuart Wallace, and Ricky Ian Gordon.
