Andrew Dunn is a songwriter. When you see him perform, you won’t see any flashy guitar playing or lightning fast licks. For him, it’s just not about showing off. It’s about the song. Period. His ability to wrap words around a melody in an engaging, conversational manner gives the impression that he’s singing directly to you. His words and melodies invite you inside the songs. They want you to see and know the people and places as if they were your own. After one listening, his songs are familiar to you, like an old friend. On top of the captivating melodies and words is that voice: a sure, clear tenor that’s been compared to James Taylor, John Denver and a young Paul Simon. As a child, Andrew was always surrounded by music. Throughout his school career he was always involved in music. Band, Chorus, Musicals…he was there in the thick of it. But it wasn’t until his senior year in high school rolled around that Andrew found his passion. He picked up his bother’s old guitar and began to write songs. The time from then until now has been spent improving his craft and honing his skills as a performer at well respected venues such as The Folk Project and Godfrey Daniels. He recently released his second CD, I AM and it has been very well received. All who hear it remark on its tasteful production and wide variety.
