Artist
Andrew "Jr Boy" Jones is one of a long line of prominent guitarists from the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas. In a line of players that has included Blind Lemon Jefferson, T-Bone Walker, Freddie King and the Vaughan Brothers, Jr. Boy Jones is every bit the equal of these fine guitarists. Having started his career at the tender age of 16 with none other than the great Freddie King, Jones has also spent time working with Katie Webster, Johnny Taylor and Charlie Musselwhite, among others. He came into his own as a vocalist with an album for JSP Records, “I Need Time” (1997), which showcases his crafty songwriting, great guitar playing, and powerful singing. Jones finally steps from the shadows of the greats with whom he's collaborated (Charlie Musselwhite, Freddie King, Katie Webster, Bobby Patterson). Judging from this stunning debut led by his distinctive guitar leads, the only question is: Why did he need so much time?
