about

Every once in a while, an artist comes along that has the ability to crawl inside the psyche, pitch a tent, and settle in for the weekend... Andres Subercaseaux is that artist. Hailing from Santiago, Chile, Andres studied Popular Music Composition at the Modern Music School in Chile and came to the US in 2006 to complete his Masters in Music Technology and Scoring for Films at NYU. Andres has written, recorded and produced music for a variety of film and TV media as well as scoring for live theatre. His debut LP, entitled Aqui, was released April 1, 2008 on CD and 250 digital retailers worldwide. His music is a compositional journey - complex and rich, while never losing sight of the groove. Pick your favorite cliche and insert it here.. Whether turning water into wine, lemons into lemonade, or something else into a delicious drink, this music is intriguing, challenging and refreshing. Primarily an instrumental endeavor, Aqui draws from a diverse sound palette, culminating in a collection of songs that sits somewhere between Andres' home in Chile, composer Yann Tiersen, and post-rock titans such as Tortoise and Cornelius.
