She was born on August 5 th 1972 in Kaiserslautern/Germany and spent the first 23 years of her life there. She started singing at age 18. Music has played an important role in her family since she can remember. Her Dad played guitar and bass and there were regular jam sessions and rehearsals in the basement. When she was a kid she learned to play flute and had classical piano lessons for many years. After school she tried unsuccessfully to study biology, while she sang in different Rock - and Soulbands. She finally reached a life changing decision: She wanted to be a professional singer - and learn. So she attented a summercourse at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and was impressed by its musical variety. She discovered her passion for Jazz. She entertained the thought to stay there and applied for a scholarship, which worked out well. But finally she decided to stay in Europe and started my education in Jazzvocals at the Conservatory of Amsterdam in Holland. While she was a student there she moved to Cologne/Germany. She sang for three years in the ensemble of the musical "Starlight Express" in Bochum, joined several bands and was booked as a studiosinger. During this time she sang Jazz mostly as a Duo with guitarist Markus Fleischer. In 1999 she graduated and moved back near my hometown one year later. Her projects concentrated on Jazz and the vocalgroup OOYAAH!, which she founded together with singer Maria Bier. She was dreaming about forming an a cappella band fo
