Andes Empire is an alternative rock band with punk and blues influences, formed by Miguel Montalban on vocals/guitar, Vittorio Richardson on bass/rhythm guitar and America Ulloa on drums and backing vocals. The band was created in Torino, Italy, after a long creative process until Montalban finished his Theatre and Film studies at Torino University. He then created an alternative project based on the staging and video. While in Italy he left his band ‘Cabaret’ from Santiago, Chile. Whilst in Torino, he wrote many songs such as Fearless, Enough, Father and Dreamers, which were received write ups in the American magazine SPIN. Months later, he met his partner in America though both decided to move to Rome. In order begin rehearsing and buy instruments, they began by busking and playing arounde city. They were finally in a position to rent a garage, initiating their first steps with the band called Andes Empire. They began to play live in many places and months later they met the manager Giovanni la Gorga, owner of the RBL music label who assisted them with the promotion of their project for launching the single “Fearless”. They created a small circuit of Indie Rock together with another bands, and began to participate in different festivals around Italy, such as the Bologna festival. They also participated at the Roadie Festival, winning and obtaining the “Youthless Fanzine Award” awarded in the city of Reggio Emilia as the best band of the 2012 festival season for the regi
