The band tout themselves as “dark and beautiful instrumental post rock that verges on neo-classical”, which hits the nail square on the head. And one should note that when this band says “verging on neo-classical” they don’t just mean they have a cello like GYBE or Sparrows Swarm and Sing do - this sextet from El Paso, TX obviously knows its stuff. The group also deliver on the post-rock side of things: all the usual elements, such as sweeping crescendos and angular stop-starts are covered, as are some less familiar sounds like the strange twang and drawn out horns of Sickoakes. Luckily they don’t check the quiet/loud box - if bands like Mono have ‘explosions’ and ‘walls of sound’ after their quiet passage then And The Furies Say would have a far more refined description of when they step a gear, like getting ‘animated’ or ‘lively’. Sadly this band is no longer making music. According to Chris from ATFS they are on an indefinite hiatus.
