Artist
This female duo (Nicky Rushton and Rachel Collins) started out playing to small audiences at "The Forth" pub in Newcastle. They went on to achieve national attention after the 1988 release of their first album on Paint It Red records, "Anything But a Soft Centre". They toured nationally and played at the 1989 Glastonbury Festival. They went on to release "Centred" and "Sugar Baby Love" (1991) on Roundabout Records. Their haunting melodies have emotive lyrics, usually with powerful harmonies. Most songs are backed up with a guitar accompaniment by Rushton and bass by Collins. All songs are written by the duo, although they often performed a cover of "Fever" in live performances.
