"Anakdota" is an israelian progressive rock band around composer and keyboard player Erez Aviram. The band's debut album was released on November 4th, 2016, by the italian label AltrOck. Written and produced entirely by Erez Aviram, it features Ray Livnat on lead vocals, best known for his collaboration with composer Eyal Amir in "Project RnL" (Rock 'n' LOL). Female lead vocals are contributed by Ayala Fossfeld. The band is completed by Guy Bernfeld on bass, and Yogev Gabay on drums. Additional guitar parts are provided by Yoel Genin. Anakdota's musical style is highly polyphonic with odd rhythms. While it's obviously rooted somewhere in the "Canterbury" tradition (Dave Stewart, Barbara Gaskin, and Hatfield & The North come to mind), some keyboard riffs are more reminiscent of the legendary Keith Emerson. Otherwise, the style is highly individual and difficult to categorize.
