Amurai (aka Manvel Ter-Pogosyan) was introduced to Trance music by ATBs famous track, 9PM (Till I Come). Born in Yerevan, Armenia, in 1987, Amurai was constantly exposed to music while growing up in a family appreciative of the arts. After immigrating to the United States in 1991, he continued to surround himself with beautiful music which led him to engage in music composition and production. Amurai’s first major breakthrough came in 2005 when he signed a vinyl EP with Empire State Recordings, run by prominent US-based duo, Filo & Peri. Two years later his collaboration with Static Blue lead to a highly successful release on Alter Ego Records entitled “Amurai vs. Static Blue – After the Sunrise”. During the next two years, inspiration from various classical and modern composers such as Khachatur Avetisyan, Hans Zimmer, John Williams, and Djivan Gasparyan lead him to begin work on a beautiful progressive track named “Tears of Armenia”, signed to Solarstone’s Deep Blue Label in 2008. Later in 2008 Amurai signed with Armin Van Buuren’s Armada record company and secured some unique releases including collaborations with renowned vocalists Emma Hewitt and Jenni Perez. In the first quarter of 2009, Amurai launched his own electronic radio show called ‘Amurai Global’ which airs on over 10 online and FM radio stations around the world.
