Amplitude Modulation was a semi-electro, semi-Psychedelic rock side-project conjoured up by Joe McElhone of The Turning (UK) and his friend, JJ Smiles one night in the Halls of Residence in which they stay. Joe was recording guitar and vocals on his laptop and reversing them to see the effects, and so JJ was in the room with him. So, Joe begins to say long words, and comes across Amplitude Modulation on his screen, as an effect. He proceeds to play the recording backwards, and to there amazement, they find out the Amplitude Modulation backwards, is infact. "Shelley's Mam, Beast n dat!" Main influences include, the "backwards hidden messages" in Stairway to Heaven, and the simplicity of making a beat on a computer...
