Amphitrite is an American rock duo that formed in Cape Fear, NC in 2010. The band is comprised of husband and wife team, Johnny and Angela Yeagher (both former members of doom metal band Wastelands of Deceit and earlier on punk rock n roll band Ironhead). Their sound is somewhere between stoner, experimental noise, post metal and alternative basically creating a new genre of doom pop. They take influence from bands such as Melvins, Boris, Torche, Sonic Youth and Wire. Their debut release if due out in 2011 on vinyl and cassette with a US Tour to follow.
