Amoriste is an up-and-coming band from the English countryside, delivering a unique brand of indie pop drawn from a mix of influences including Athlete, Elbow and The Editors. Originally formed in 2007 in Chelmsford, Essex (the birthplace of radio itself) and performing under previous guises including the well-known Soprano, Amoriste is now complete with a four-man line-up consisting of Liam Tolan (vocals/guitar), Phil Cockerton (keys), David Crawford (bass) and Rael Bearman (drums). Highlights of the band’s career up to 2009 included supporting the likes of Ash and Supergrass at various UK festivals and playing the main stage at major Croatian festival Rokaj. The band have received extensive airplay in Germany with their track Berlin, with further gigs in the region scheduled for 2010. After a brief hiatus in mid-2009, a brand new Amoriste emerged back onto the Essex and London gig scene. Having had the summer to perfect their skills and live set, the band quickly released new recordings and videos for the tracks Berlin and This Park is Mine. The band completed an 8-date UK tour in October 2009 and saw increased press and radio attention, including two features in NME's new and unsigned section. Spring 2010 has been the busiest
