American Folk is a new-timey string band hailing out of Southeastern Wisconsin, established in 2006. Their hard driving acoustic music has been called, bluegrass, folk, and alt-country. Along with catchy original songs, the band performs many great covers. Composed of Mike Kessler, Adam Lantz, TJ Leveque, Jim Moses, Shawn Drake, and Eric Nelson, the band has released two studio albums and several live recordings to date. The band members have referenced inspirations such as, Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, The Stanley Brothers, The Dillards, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and The Rolling Stones.
