Ambitious Tugboat is the songs and performances of Pancho the Kid, Pelvis McGillicuddy, Sam Potrykus, and their friends. At times earnest, at times playful, and always a hoot -- the band's sound is still evolving -- with Pancho and Pelvis offering up an endless stream of unforgettable folk tunes, tied together by Sam's psych-rendered bass lines and sweet harmonies -- and a rotating cast of characters who come aboard to add touches of blues, garage, soul, doo-wop, and ambient noise, etc. The group is affiliated with the Whitehaus Family Record in Jamaica Plain and has performed at all sorts of stages -- from Burlington, Vermont to Brooklyn, New York -- while stopping to eat grapefruits at every opportunity.
