The band that eventually became Ambershades was formed in Waterloo Studios, London, in 2001 by Davey La and Ben Castle - both producers who decided to start writing and recording their own material. Featuring perfect harmonies, with more than a nod to the 60s and full of upbeat summery anthems that on further listens reveal a darker lyrical side, their debut album, Clap Clap Clap became one of the most critically-acclaimed albums of 2005. Unfortunately, Ambershades have been virtually absent from the musical scene since the release of the album after two members joined the backing band of James Blunt. With two members based in New York and the rest in the UK, it is looking unlikely we'll hear from Ambershades again, though reports in early 2006 suggested otherwise...
