Amarillo Cian y Magenta is a group that plays original instrumental music, categorized as ‘Costa Rican contemporary urban music’. This is based on the mixing of elements of different types of music that influence their culture to create a cross-bred music, with a sound both unique and representative of contemporary urban Costa Rican culture. They are a group of young musicians, with experience in other ensembles of diverse styles, both in classical as well as popular genres. Their music is a free and open fusion of different music of the world, influenced by jazz, electronic, classical, African, latin-american, oriental and other musical styles. The group has a 6 year trajectory, in which it has performed at the most important venues and festivals of Costa Rica, and has received a very positive response from the audience. Among these festivals are The International Arts Festival of San Jose, The Arts Festival of San Carlos, The Mundoloco Festival and The Papaya Fest. Other notable venues the group has performed at are the Jazz Café de San Pedro, The Melico Salazar Theater, The Museum of Costa Rican Art, The University of Costa Rica, The National University of Costa Rica y and the Jazz Café de Escazú. They have an album titled ‘Nómadas’ which was recorded by Walter Flores (two-time Grammy Awards winner).
