Amar hails from a musically affluent family. By the age of 9, Amar had begun formal training in piano under Robert Correa. At 13, he formally made his foray into the music industry as a musician. Amar has done immense body of work for acclaimed music directors like Anand Milind, Jatin Lalit, Bappi Lahiri, Ismail Darbar, Hridaynath Mangeshkar, Ravindra Jain, Nadeem Shravan, Aadesh Shrivastav, Anand Raj Anand, Viju Shah, Vishal Shekhar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rajesh Roshan. He was a part of films like and has programmed the songs of popular films like Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi, Lekin, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jaayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam, Sarfarosh, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas, Dillagi, Ghulam, Karan Arjun, Koyla,Kaho Na Pyaar Hai, Mohabbatein, Hum Tum, Koi Mil Gaya, Ladlaa, Hero no.1, Aaina, Mere Yaar Ki Shadi, Musafir, Shabd, Karam, and many more. Amar carved a niche for himself as a musician and naturally transitioned into a composer. His first independent film score was “Road” in 2002 earning him also his first award nomination for best background score. He has brought a refreshing new edge to film scores through his soulful work. Working with several acclaimed directors, he has been hailed for his work in various films. His compositions are a rich blend of world and contemporary music.
