Her mop of blonde curls and quick, energetic smile exude the carefree playfulness of youth, but dig a little deeper, and you will find that there’s an old soul dwelling within her teen heart. Some are born that way it seems, and so it was only natural for Amanda to be drawn to music at an early age, perhaps to express emotions that mere words could not. Singing in choirs since age 5, and playing the piano from the age of 6, she began to find her own voice around the age of 12, at which time she began voice training and became her school choir’s most enthusiastic soloist. By age 14, Amanda had written her first song, began vocal training with Lis Lewis (Pink, Rihanna) and less than a year later recorded a four song EP. Indie-Music.com took notice and, declaring her “precocious with a sound way beyond her years,” named her their top New and Notable artist for Feb. and March of 2010.
