Amaia Romero Arbizu (Pamplona, ​​Navarra, January 3, 1999) is a Spanish singer, musician, composer and actress. She became famous after participating in the ninth edition of Operación Triunfo, where she was proclaimed the winner. In addition, she was selected along with Alfred García, also a contestant on the show, to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 with "Tu canción", composed by Raúl Gómez and Sylvia Santoro.​​ At the end of the contest, and before her time at Eurovision, Amaia signed a contract with the record label Universal Music Spain and released her debut single, "Un nuevo lugar".
