Artist
Also known as Amédée Breaux, Amadie Breaux was one of the earliest known Cajun recording artists. He was born September 1 1900 in Rayne, Louisiana. Very few of his recordings are known to exist, but a few have surfaced on compilations documenting the early years of the genre. His most well-known song is "Ma Blonde Est Partie (Jolie Blonde)," a song he wrote and performed himself that ended up being covered numerous times by other artists, including Bruce Springsteen and Roy Acuff. He died in 1975. User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
