Arising in the northern mid-west location of South Dakota, Alter Noctvm...Alter Idem (AN...AI) was initially a two member experimental gothic/industrial project consisting of Nikolas Robinson (vocals, bass, percussion, programming) and Joel Klausen (programming, synth, guitar, and vocals). Between the years of 1997 and 2001 (when the project officially disbanded) additional members were added and replaced, however the only one contributing to any recorded material was James Gaskins (guitar, synth, programming). In the nearly five years of the project's activity only one album was self-produced and distributed. Additional, extra-album, material does exist but was never formally released.
