Evoking the iconic Alpine White Gibson guitar as their namesake, Alpine White’s four song debut, The Hale EP, features seamlessly crafted guitar hooks, catchy choruses, and the sincere and heartfelt lyrics of Colin Denker. Inspiration is wherever you can find it, or at least that’s how Colin views it. “For the last five years or so there has been a recurring duality, where on one hand you have drugs, stagnation, suicide, and negativity, and on the other is life, love, inspiration, creativity, and music,” states Colin. “For me it all seems to hinge on my attitude.” Despite their crisp and wintry moniker, Alpine White emerges out of San Francisco, showcasing their power pop sensibilities and indie rock melodies resting in the camp of indie rock greats a la Spoon, The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys. Positioned atop the band is chief song-writer and sheriff, Colin Denker (lead vocals, guitar, piano, drums), along with his brother Ian Denker (bass, vocals). Friends Ivan Wence (guitar, vocals) and Javier Benavides (drums, percussion) joined in April 2011, completing the quartet. Though the band found its roots in San Francisco, the group didn’t always call the city home. In fact, to call the band well-traveled may prove to be a bit of an understatement. While most brothers grow up arguing in the sandbox or fighting over car privileges, brothers Colin and Ian are first generation German Americans who spent their youth traveling the country with their father until the age of 16.
