For the London based band: alphabet, an exciting new alternative band hailing from London, is made up of four close friends: Lena, Milo, Tom, and George. The group’s roots trace back to their time in Brighton, where they met while playing in different bands. When life led them all to leave Brighton around the same time, they re-settled in London, where alphabet was born. Inspired by artists such as The Cure, Slowdive and Sonic Youth, alphabets sound mixes melodic and at times abrasive guitars with meteoric drumming and both punchy & ethereal vocals Just a year ago, they played their first show together, and they’ve been making waves ever since, including supporting the likes of Egyptain Blue, Sunken, Martial Arts, Humour & Splint, and they’ve even been championed by post-punk powerhouses Fontaines D.C. and Shame. Their debut single, "Artificial Light," was one of the first tracks they crafted as a band, capturing the raw energy and connection that defines their sound. Packaged inside a surreal, dreamlike landscape, “Artificial Light” lyrically centres on feelings of anxiety, self-doubt, and melancholy, and the lengths one might go to escape those feelings—for better or for worse. Alphabet is also the name of Tomo Okada who was born in metropolitan Tokyo in 1976. When he was child, his family moved out to the suburbs of Tokyo.
