Almanac Mountain, beyond being an obscure peak in Penobscot County, Maine just shy of 1000 feet, also moonlights as a one man/one computer psych-folk / folktronica outfit from Rockingham County, New Hampshire. The outcast of a classical music and musical theatre upbringing, and the love child of his high school's epic electronic music room, Almanac Mountain (aka Christopher Cote) found shelter and TLC in the sympathetic tones of pop artisans like Badly Drawn Boy, Magnetic Fields, The Divine Comedy, Inara George, Laura Veirs, Midlake, The Electric Light Orchestra, Alan Parsons, and numerous 60s psychedelic acts. These influences, combined with reverential nods to his concert hall past and the Arp blips and Korg bleeps emanating from that distant school room, all contribute to the sundry sound of Almanac Mountain.
