Allegaeon is an American death metal band from Fort Collins, Colorado, formed in 2008. The band has released one EP and seven studio albums, and is currently signed to Metal Blade Records. Allegaeon was formed in 2007 and initially performed at small venues in and around Fort Collins. In August 2008, they independently released a self-titled EP, which was followed by a signing with Metal Blade Records. The band recorded their debut album, "Fragments of Form and Function," in January 2010, and it was released on July 20, 2010. Their second album, "Formshifter," was recorded in December 2011 at Lambesis Studios in San Diego and released on May 8, 2012. In 2013, founding guitarist Ryan Glisan left the band after collaborating with Tim Lambesis on a separate project. He was replaced by Michael Stancel. Allegaeon's third full-length album, "Elements of the Infinite," was released on June 24, 2014, and received positive reviews for its guitar work and orchestral elements. In 2015, original vocalist Ezra Haynes departed the band, though his departure was not attributed to internal band issues. Riley McShane was selected as the new vocalist, and the band received a positive fan reception. Allegaeon released "Proponent for Sentience" in September 2016, which was regarded as a significant achievement in modern metal. The album featured guest vocals by Björn Strid of Soilwork and guitar work by Benjamin Ellis of Scar Symmetry. Later in 2016, bass player Corey Archuleta announced hi
