There are at least four artists with this name: 1) Alkahest is a a Brooklyn based metal band that combines elements of doom, sludge, stoner, ambient and psych into music that is something entirely unique. The band was formed in 2009 by guitarists Jon Powell & Nikhil Kamineni (Quiet Lights) with the intention of writing and performing music that is both crushing, hypnotizing, subtle and intricate all at the same time. The lineup was soon completed by Rajah Marcelo on drums, Adam Campanella on bass, and the vocals of Chris Dialogue (Queen Elephantine, Terror Eyes). Their debut full length album Milk & Morphine will be released on Sept 23rd.
