Artist
Alick Nkhata was a pioneer of Zambian popular music whose career spanned the pre- and post-Independence years in Central Africa. During a career in radio, he not only worked in radio announcing but also recorded his own music, which proved to be very popular. He retired in 1974 and was tragically killed four years later, in crossfire between guerillas and government forces.
