Artist
Alice Giles is an Australian-born harpist, considered amongst the world's leading harp soloists. She presented her first solo recital when she was just 13, and went on to win the 8th Israel International Harp Contest when she was 21. Giles was also awarded the Churchill Fellowship in Music. She has performed in Australia, Europe, America and Israel as a soloist and with orchestras and chamber ensembles. Composer Luciano Berio considered her the most technically accomplished and masterful harpist he had ever met. She has an international reputation as a teacher, having given masterclasses in the Salzburg Mozarteum, Den Haag Conservatorium, Royal Academy London, Cleveland Institute, the Julliard School, and Curtis Institute.
