Silje Kåfjord aka Alice & the Mountain is a Norwegian singer and composer. She grew up on the south coast of Norway, and has been performing since the age of 11. Three of her songs have been displayed on Norwegian television in different settings, and in 2013 she released two singles under the name Alice & the Mountain. Her debut album "Nine Lives" was released on September 13th 2013. Live, her music is presented both as a more electronic type with a band and as a duo with renowned Norwegian piano player Bernt Moen (known from the Norwegian bands Green Carnation and Shining). Alice & the Mountain write songs about escaping from the heavy machines and into the wild nature, about disconnecting the human soul from its urban prison, but also about casual little things. Like how nice the coffee smells when you`re in love and how it might lose its nice smell when a heart turns into a broken one, shattered into a million pieces.
